The first leg of the Presidents cup took place Saturday night between the Wrington Vale & Central leagues @ the Churchill club.

Played in the 3 sets of 4 format there was very little in it between the two leagues in the first two sets, with Clint Harding scoring 51 (wrington) and Paul Stewart 54 (central) top scoring securing a 3 pin lead into the last set, the third set was pretty much one sided with some steady skittling by all four players for the Central league with Dave Wilmott top scoring 52, only for Wringtons captain Andy Harris to put in 2 spares at the end to pull pins back, Central won the set by 18 and take a 21 pin lead into the second leg early next year.

Scores: Wrington Vale 505, Clint Harding 51, Central 526, Paul Stewart 54
